![]() I did the ordinary rotation, and checked all locations i knew for supplies. After that it was just wolf, deer and plants. But i had decided to go for the achievement. It was not actually last, i had about 30 cans/bars of stuff in storage. It was day 6 when I ate my last canned food. Last game started to feel grindy with all that surplus stuff, so I decided to tune up the difficulty and I tried to get achievements "living off the land" (25 consecutive days consuming calories only from the wild) and "silent hunter" (50 first days without firing the rifle) NOTE: I red from another post that this is core philosophy of game design: "Bad decisions and mistakes lead to death". And thought that was it for me, perhaps I will give this game another try when its final and ready. I forgot to put clothes back on and froze to death. I went outside, attacked a wolf (without clothes of course, who in his right mind would attack a wolf with clothes on :o), went back in, ate, and went to sleep to replenish condition back to 100%. So in a nutshell, this is all, apart from occasional wood gathering:Ĭhase a deer to a wolf - Attack the wolf - Harvest - Eat, sleep and heal - Find wolf carcass - Harvest - Eat, sleep and heal - Repeat to infinity.Īnd you will find that most of your time in the game you will spend by the fireplace boiling water, cooking meat and sleeping.įirst one lasted 35 days, and ended in coastal highway gas station. When you get more stuff than you consume. ![]() These will keep you going for a long time. At first few days, you'll find plenty of antiseptic (maybe 1-2 liters) and some cloth and then you can scavenge your sleeping bag for more cloth. You lose one bandage and 0,1L of antiseptic per wolf attack. Of course if you have plenty of ammunition you dont need healing stuff, just shoot the wolwes. With hunting strategy - and hunting is necessary for long term play - the endgame resources will be cloth (for making bandages) and antiseptic/old mans beard (for cleaning the wounds). In fact, its better not to repair you cloth gear, but to scavenge them for cloth. And then you repeat the same procedure.Īt first you have to be cautious when to go out, but when you have killed enough deer and wolves and crafted better gear, cold is not much of an issue anymore. You can find the wolf's carcass somewhere near the next day. Then you get to safety, eat all the meat you get from the deer. Before attacking the wolf you take off your clothes to not to have damage to them. With knife, best way to hunt is to let the wolves kill the deer by chasing the deer to a wolf, then attack the wolf. But without knife or a hatchet it is pain. If you find a rifle too, game is just too easy. Then you can start hunting for wolves and deer. ![]() That is untill you find knife and or hatchet. You scavenge all you can get, run from base (indoor) to another. And I am talking about stalker mode ofcourse. But once you learn the game mechanics and learn the maps, the challenge is gone and it gets grindy. ![]() It took me maybe a dozen of runs to get past day 10. ![]() I have never before bothered to start a discussion here about any game, so there is definately something very captivating about this game.Īt first, the game feels very challenging. First of all, I have to say this is a great game. ![]()
