#Nancy drew the captive curse achievements seriesThis may seem to be an obvious move for a blog, but there is a real possibility that my favorites might in no way line up with your favorites.Īt the end of the day, each ND game is good – truly – and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys playing one of them to play as many of the rest of the series as possible. Just thought I’d put this here ’cause.stringing beads is pretty? From The Creature of Kapu Cave (#15).ĭisclaimers! Any mistakes in this blog are mine and I’m sorry.Īlso, there are most probably spoilers afoot, all throughout this blog.Īnd finally: I have opinions and it’s okay that they may be different from your own.īefore diving into the subject matter at hand (Nancy Drew! Nancy Drew!), I want to warn you that I will be sharing my detailed opinions on each mystery game that is, telling you why certain games are my very favorite, and why others are my very least favorite. I hope you enjoy reading my lengthy reviews of each Nancy Drew computer mystery game, from Secrets Can Kill (#1) on up through Sea of Darkness (#32). My hope is that my efforts will give you an informative and interesting perspective on a new or already well-loved Nancy Drew game.Īnyway, that’s my introduction to the “why” of this blog. Plus, I rather like sharing thoughts and ideas in writing, so really it’s a win-win-win for me. Another reason is that it’s a new way for me to think about and relive each mystery without just replaying a game I’ve already played 15 times (not necessarily an exaggerated figure for some of my favorite Nancy Drew games). That’s partly why I wanted to write my own take on each Nancy Drew computer mystery game in this blog – so that someone else would have a chance to take into account my thoughts about ND games. For many of the games, there just wasn’t much in-depth info available for me to read about them at all. I would often kick up a review and it would satisfy some, but not all, of these areas of interest. Usually, I would end up skimming reviews for the game and hope it would provide an in-depth, exciting description of the title without any actual spoilers. From Curse of Blackmoor Manor (#11).īefore I eventually managed to collect the whole series, I would read others’ thoughts and opinions about particular Nancy Drew games I was interested in but didn’t yet own myself. I like this kind of fit-it-in-the-box puzzle, but I bet there are those who just find it frustrating. #Nancy drew the captive curse achievements fullBut I have played and beaten every full Nancy Drew PC mystery adventure game up to and including Sea of Darkness (though I haven’t played any of the Nancy Drew dossier games or any other small ones, just the full PC mystery adventures.) I have not been above seeking help from the internet (and my husband) if I really really can’t get past something and I don’t want to see if time away from the problem would refresh my perspective on the puzzle. #Nancy drew the captive curse achievements how toJust like in the real world, there can be some frustrating moments in each game: figuring out how to resolve a situation so you can move on, or just getting stuck at one of the more challenging puzzles. The games value curiosity, learning, and the solving of puzzles so that you, as Nancy Drew, can save the day again and again. I like that the focus isn’t some gritty Grand Theft Auto-style fantasy instead, it’s about putting together each game’s big puzzles of what is going on in this situation and who is causing mischief/crimes through numerous and varied smaller puzzles. Heck, when you do make a “Fatal Error”, you can literally push a button for a “Second Chance” and have a do-over. I also enjoy sharing with my husband which “Sassy Detective” award(s) I earned through my achievements, actions, and/or general style of sleuthing.Ī sassy detective award for The Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon (#13)Īnd to be honest, I like that the games are never too harsh: the language is mild, you’re not going to see anything too violent, the scary parts aren’t that scary, etc. I love figuring out all the puzzles, solving the overall mystery, and sometimes even kicking up a hidden Easter egg or two along the way. There are spooky moments, educational games, cool cities, things to explore, and surprises aplenty. We’re talking point-and-click puzzles, mysteries to decode and piece together, snooping through rooms and locked boxes, sociable interactions with friends and suspects alike. Okay, here it is: I am a full-grown adult, and I love the Nancy Drew computer mystery game series.
